Silver Street is a narrow two-way street and has buildings either side.
There is no rear access to the building.
There is a solitary stone step with metal sheeting up to the main door of the property measuring 810mm wide, depth 80mm and 200mm high. The main entrance door is single leaf 840mm wide with a lock height of 880mm.
Once through the main entrance door there is a staircase containing twelve carpeted steps. Each step measures 340 mm wide, 280mm high and 250mm deep. At the top of the staircase is a small carpeted landing area measuring 540mm x 370mm.
The entrance door is 750mm wide. Once the door has been opened into
the property, the space available to manoeuvre is approximately 810mm x
650mm. The entrance door leads you straight into the small kitchenette
The kitchenette has an under counter fridge freezer which is 470mm
wide. The single worktop is 900mm high and 590mm deep. Once the
door to the property is closed, the free space is.....once the door is closed
is 730mm x 1230mm.
The entrance door to the shower room is 730mm. The free space is
790mm x 790mm. The step up into the shower is 102mm and the
entrance into the shower is 390mm.
The maximum height for the shower controls is 1340mm and the shower
area is surrounded by a single glass screen.
The washbasin height is 850mm, the depth is 360mm and the width is
450mm.The wash basin has a mirror above.
The toilet is 420mm high with a push button flush.
The property is all open plan. As a result the kitchenette and bedroom
area are separated by a gap measuring 670mm.
The bedroom contains a double bed measuring 630mm in height,
1350mm in width and 1900mm in length. On each side of the bed is a
fixed wooden shelf. The height from the floor is 380mm, the depth is
250mm and the width 690mm.
The free space to the left hand side of the bed is 600mm and 590mm
(1350mm without armchair).
Adjacent to the bed is a wall-mounted, full-length mirror measuring
1650mm in height.
Situated to the right hand side of the bed is a small armchair and wooden
coffee table. The chair is 400mm in height and 540mm in width. The
coffee table is 560mm in height and 550mm in both width and depth.
To the left hand side of the bed is a wall mounted electric heater. The
maximum height for the operating switch is 620mm.
At the foot of the bed is a small wooden set of drawers measuring 690mm
high, 630mm width and 330mm depth.
In the corner of the room stands a wooden wardrobe frame. The frame is
fixed to the external wall of the property and does not contain doors. The
height is 1750mm, width 670mm and depth 480mm.
There is also a small second wardrobe frame and desk area facing the foot
of the bed.
The wardrobe frame is again, fixed to the wall, does not contain doors
and has been constructed in the excess space above the stairs. The height
of the wardrobe, disregarding the boxed area is 1100mm (1880mm from
floor level, including boxed area), 940mm wide and 720mm deep.
The wooden desk is fixed to the all and is 820mm in height, 530mm
depth and 1050mm wide. The desk is accompanied by a cushioned chair
which measures 460mm in height, 400mm in depth and is 430mm wide.
Concluding the bedroom area is a wall-mounted electric fire. The
maximum height to the switch from floor level is 1020mm.
The windows in the property are both sliding sash and the maximum

There are a number of car parking options. For Captain's Rest we would
recommend using the private pay and display car park situated
further along the street. However, Discovery do have a small number of
car parking spaces. These are only recommended for small to medium
cars and can be up to 5 minutes walk from your accommodation. Car
parking is charged at £6 and day and can be booked using the 'My
Account' option on the website or through the reception during office
We also offer scratch cards which are available from the reception at a
charge of £2 for four days which allows you to park anywhere apart from
1 hour zones.
Please be aware that some streets in Whitby are narrow and parking
can be difficult.
We provide a laundry service at £5 per bag. You can call our office to arrange
dropping off and collection times on the number provided.
Any waste can be left in the apartment and a member of our
housekeeping staff will remove it once you have departed.

There are shops on Skinner Street which runs parallel to Silver Street
which include an off-license, post office and a number of shops.
It is approximately 500 metres to the town centre. Please be advised that
there is a steep hill.
PUBLIC AND LOCAL TRANSPORT.
The bus station and railway station are only a short distance away
(approximately 5-10 minutes) and there are also a taxi rank near the
Tourist Information point.
